On March 30, 2014, the Vikings BLACK faced off against Team Hockeyshop Forster at the rink in Mainz in the RMHLiga finale. The teams had met earlier in the year with the Vikings winning handily. This match was to be much closer.
Hundreds of fans filled the rink and the energy at the puck drop was high. Both teams played well and the Vikings entered the final minutes up 4-3. Unfortunately, Team Hockeyshop Forster scored on what appeared to be a shot off of the post to tie the game at 4. The Vikings eventually lost the shootout for the second straight season.
Regardless of the outcome, the 2013-2014 RMHLiga season was a success for all teams. And congratulations goes to Team Hockeyshop Forster!
