On August 17, 2014 at the Rebstock sportplatz in Frankfurt, following a valiant comeback that saw the Vikings make up a 3-0 deficit in the final 3 minutes of the game, a bouncing puck found its way to the back of the Vikings net with 0:06 left in regulation to give the Langen White Wolves the championship. Kyle Houtz was fantastic in net and Robert Painter scored several timely goals throughout the day. But it was Scott Parise who really set the tone, losing approximately 9 gallons of blood from a severely broken nose following a head-to-face collision with teammate Joel Saucier. Apparently, only another Viking can break a Viking.
We’ll be back next season! Next up: DPL inline play-offs!
